David Bray | Great Disasters Of The 20th Century | StolenSpace

Next up at the StolenSpace gallery is a series of delicately drawn depictions of the unattainable female by David Bray. The exhibition, Great Disasters of the 20th Century, opens on February 4th 2011 | Bray was inspired by the record ‘Great Disasters of the Twentieth Century’ by Georg Lubitzer, on which there is a track called 70 days | “This track inspired me to do a drawing a day for 70 days, whatever style or content of that particular drawing dictated the style or content of the larger drawings – which evolved over the same period of time. Each drawing has a variety of mark making styles within it. The record details the occult, egyptology, loss, magik and supernature – and i have tried to reflect that in the work” | The work will remain on view until February 27th 2011 @ StolenSpace, The Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL.
